Announcement of EDDD workshop “Knowledge, Power, and Participation in Digital Democracies”

A workshop titled “Knowledge, Power, and Participation in Digital Democracies” will take place on January 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, in a hybrid format at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka (Room F-412), with the option to participate online via Zoom.
The workshop will focus on key challenges facing contemporary digital democracies, with particular attention to the relationship between knowledge, political power, and citizen participation in the digital environment. It will explore pressing issues such as the regulation of misinformation and hate speech on digital platforms from an epistemic democratic perspective, the need for a European political epistemology, and the democratic implications of electronic voting systems.
The event is organized as part of the research project “Epistemic Democracy in a Digital Era”, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, and is open to interested researchers, students, and members of the public.
