Workshop on Knowledge, Power, and Participation in Digital Democracies Held in Rijeka

On January 29, 2026, the EDDD team hosted the workshop “Knowledge, Power, and Participation in Digital Democracies”, held in a hybrid format with participants attending both in person and online via Zoom.
The three-hour program was dedicated to the relationship between knowledge, political power, and citizen participation in the digital environment. Discussions addressed issues such as the regulation of misinformation and hate speech on digital platforms from an epistemic democratic perspective, the need for a European political epistemology, and the democratic implications of electronic voting systems.
The workshop was organized as part of the research project “Epistemic Democracy in a Digital Era”, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. The event fostered lively debate and exchange of ideas, opening up space for further collaboration and research in the field.
